PROCESS
The process of a relationship between Penstar and clients, from initiation to the implementation of completed jewellery, is developed over 5 general stages.
1. Contact & Negotiation - The first step after our initial contact and queries is to negotiate a merchandise licensing agreement between Penstar and your company or licensing agent. The licensing agreement will be based around how Penstar can use your intellectual property such as brand logos and symbols, to represent these in the form of jewellery to market to your customers and/or resellers. When a licensing agreement has been reached we move on to the concept development stage.
2. Concept Development - In many cases concepts of how your brand logos could be represented as jewellery will be presented to you during the initial contact and queries. Concepts in the form of CAD drawings or even images of finished prototypes is supplied for your examination for merchandising suitabilty. When concepts are agreed to they are manufactured.
3. Manufacturing - the overall manufacturing process consists of the following five (5) steps which are briefly outlined:
a) CAD (computer aided design) - Jewelry concepts featuring your brand logos already designed by Penstar using CAD, can be produced subject to your approval. New and ongoing concepts can be produced using CAD and also considered for suitability.
b) Rapid Prototype - Approved CAD designs are then made into a prototype of wax or resin, which is then cast in sterling silver, finished and polished in preperation for mold making.
c) Moulds - The sterling silver masterpice is then used to make a mold from so that is can be accurately reproduced.
d) Casting - A process called 'lost wax casting' is used to produce any number of jewelry pieces from molds. Jewellery can be cast in various metals such as gold and silver, and in various karats.
e) Finishing and polishing - Cast jewellery needs to be prepared for the market by a finishing and polishing process to insure top quality final pieces.
4. Distribution - Market ready jewellery pieces featuring your brand logos are then distributed to resellers and/or end users by following a marketing plan developed specifically for that brand, and according to the terms of the merchandising licensing agreement.
5. Reporting - Sales reports, marketing reports and other relevant information is available to you when requested.
